Unemployed
Quitting job has many pluses. Back in Madras after four years, feel so great. I have been helping mom and aunts with shopping at that modern day monster called T Nagar. I am unable to decide which of these would be the ugliest man-made structure in the city:
1. Pothy's
2. Saravanna Stores
3. Chennai Silks
4. GRT
Must take some skill!
The downside of being at home, I miss Bangalore. *Gasp*

My Editor subjects me to two hours of gyaan and pontification. The premise of her argument is – I am right, because I am.
Not getting me to buy that kind of argument, she announces in a huff, you misunderstand me.
I am not sure about that. I mean, I didn’t understand a thing. Where then, is there scope to misunderstand?

Death by Chocolate
Amma tells me that, it is high time I got married to a nice Tamil boy.
On Little Tommy’s suggestion, I Googled for the following:
Single Tamil Boys
Note, how I dropped the “nice” bit.
It led me to this Blog. I love this Blog. It is hilarious and embarrassingly true.
All of this makes me miss Madras.
Though, Madras does not have a Corner House.

Hello to the New Year
I work in an unsafe city.
Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore account for almost 34 percent of all crimes in 35 major cities country, says a new police report
Uh, huh. A special allowance to be included in the CTC of all women employees in these cities?
The report reveals a new trend: young people in the country are taking to crime.
Damn these young people. I always knew that some younger man shall be my death.
A bit of good news in the report is that though the total number of cimes in India increased by 1.5 percent in 2006, the crime rate (number of crimes per one lakh population) declined by 0.02 percent.
Duh! That would mean what? The population is growing more rapidly than the number of "young" people taking up crimes? Can someone explain the maths?
Full report here.
